Home-Based Working Moms!

Making a Difference

WAHMfest™, the Work At Home Moms expo, was founded in Northern Virginia in 1998 by Marybeth Henry. A work-at-home mom and "Jill of All Trades," Marybeth felt called to help other moms (and dads) who wanted to stay home with their families find a way. In just four short years, WAHMfest™ has expanded to 20+ states, and we are growing every day. To find out if there is a WAHMfest™ near you or to sign up as an exhibitor, visit our local listings. At WAHMfest™, we believe the role of Mother is the proudest occupation in the world. However, we also understand, from experience, that moms often need something "for themselves" - and many have a desire to feel that they are contributing materially to their family's well-being. WAHMfest™ is dedicated to helping moms stay at home with their children and still be able to fulfill their own needs, as well. WAHMfest™ brings moms (potential, to-be, current stay-at-home or professional!) and business, part-time and volunteer opportunities and helpful business resources together! Meet our National Partners and Sponsors here!

WAHMfest™ has a twofold mission:
1. To help mothers (and fathers) fulfill their goal of staying home with their families by connecting them with helpful business resources and legitimate work-at-home or "alternative," flexible opportunities and
2. To help promote mother (and father)-owned businesses through "live" exhibitions, on-line promotion and networking.

We are strong advocates for telecommuting and creating flexible positions that will help mothers and fathers find balance in their lives. We believe that with the technology available these days (and the terrible traffic problems in most major cities), there is no reason parents should not be allowed to work from outside their office whenever possible. We have also partnered with SilentFrog.com to create a job-search database where parents who want to work from home can list their expertise and be found by employers seeking their assistance and where parents who need part-time help (accounting, babysitting, yardwork, secretarial and much more) can also search.
